HYDERABAD RACE CLUB
INDIAN HORSE RACING LIBRARY AND MUSEUM
Race goers have a chance to step into the pages of history when they visit the library and museum in the Paddock Complex of the Members Enclosure. Open an all the days when races are held at Hyderabad, this institution’s entrance is distinguished by the visual of horses fighting out a finish.
These horses sport the colours once used by Apcar and Aga Khan. Inside are colours of other famous owners along with photographs from ages past.
Several institutions and individuals have donated classics like the Hon. George Lambton’s Men and Horses I have known to the library. Professionals with enviable records in the classic races have parted with their tack and trophies for the sake of kindling nostalgia among race goers.
Tack from an earlier era grace the shelves. They are fore runners of a collection that will soon go beyond racing… into all aspects of Indian equestrian history.
